The Growing Tree’s program is purposefully designed to support great beginnings for our students through a developmental learning process. The core of our philosophy supports our school motto, “Growing Together” by providing opportunities for the students to be actively engaged with tactile, hands-on learning opportunities in small groups.

Opportunities for spiritual, social, and emotional growth abound as students explore, experiment and discover. The primary goals for the program are to foster a love for Jesus Christ, acquire valuable life lessons, and build confidence in the students as they learn to respect and care for others.

Jr./KINDERGARTEN CURRICULUM

Our program focuses on developing literary skills, as well as mathematic, scientific, and critical thinking. Interdisciplinary studies include art, music, technology, movement and physical education. Students also take regular trips to the library for story time.

OUTDOOR LEARNING AND EXPLORATION

Outdoor play and learning is a regular part of our school day. Outdoor education and time for natural exploration are integrated into the science and P.E. programs by use of our playground, as well as fields and trails of the surrounding Shenandoah Valley.

ELEMENTARY PROGRAM

Academic success depends upon a solid foundation. TGT is equipped to provide a learning program with proven academic results. TGT’s educational program is designed so that the average student achieves above-average excellence. The instructional program for Grades 1-4 continues the educational foundation which was begun on the kindergarten level. TGT’s students consistently score significantly higher than the national average on standardized achievement tests.
